Sunday Assembly - January

Our January Assembly will focus on building and maintaining hope outside of religious belief systems. Please join the Sunday Assembly community January 14th for a talk by Dr. Danielle LaSusa titled Hope in a Godless World. A passionate teacher and philosophy coach for the past thirteen years, she loves helping people use philosophical thinking to transform their lives.

Dr. LaSusa is a Philosophical Coach and Consultant, podcaster, and instructor of philosophy here in Portland. She gives tailored philosophical guidance to help individuals and organizations think clearly, choose confidently, and live purposefully. Her bi-weekly podcast Think Hard (http://www.thinkhardpodcast.com/) brings philosophical thinking to everyday issues in culture, art, and politics. She earned her Ph.D. in philosophy and Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies from Temple University in Philadelphia, and she teaches philosophy at Portland Community College. She received a Certification in Philosophical Counseling from the American Philosophical Practitioners Association in 2011 and re-certified in 2017.

Sunday Assembly Portland is a chapter of the secular global movement of Sunday Assemblies. We promote community, positivity, and compassion for those who seek an alternative to religious congregations. We meet once a month to sing songs, listen to inspiring talks, and celebrate the wonder of life.
In addition to the monthly assemblies, we organize small group meetups and participate in volunteer projects across the Portland area. We are free, family friendly, and offer support to every person as we take full advantage of the one life we know we have.
