Sunday Assembly - Evolution

Join us Sunday, September 11th in lovely Lola's Room with live music from the Sunday Assembly band, inspiring sharing from your community, and a thought-provoking lecture by Dr. Jon Peters!

Cetacean Evolution - A Whale of a Tale

Evolution, especially large scale evolutionary changes commonly referred to as macroevolution, is a difficult concept for many to accept. By looking closely at one example of evolution’s mastery of producing new species we can understand why all the life and geological sciences and medicine are firmly grounded on this amazing theory first proposed in a concrete from by Darwin. We are all part of the greatest history story ever discovered with a common shared ancestry connecting us and all life and our planet itself reaching back over billions of years.

After the assembly, mosey on downstairs to Ringlers for lunch and have a beer for Sunday Assembly Portland! 100% of all food and beverage sales go directly towards covering our costs.

Child care:  provided in the Wonder Club 10:45am - 12:45pm. Parents, please see details here.

Food Drive:    Each month, we can "help often" by supporting Team Relief with a food donation. Please bring donations of unexpired, unopened, canned or packaged food items to the donation table before the Assembly begins. Food items will be used to support those in our community who are in need.

Everyone is welcome, and our events are always free, always awesome.
