Join the Friends of Mt. Tabor Park as a Weed Warrior! Spend the morning (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) outside at Mt. Tabor, a cinder cone volcano in SE Portland, and help restore the health of this unique park. The Weed Warriors will be removing invasive plants including Himalayan blackberry and English ivy.
Wear long sturdy pants such as jeans or carhartts, long sleeves and closed-toe ankle supporting shoes. Bring a water bottle and if you have them work gloves, a trowel, and/or hand clippers. Be prepared to have fun and feel good taking care of our Mt. Tabor Park.
Driving Directions: Enter park at 60th Ave & Salmon Drive up past the reservoirs; the parking lot is at the top of the hill on the left. Meet at the Visitor’s Center.
Volunteers must be 7 years of age or older to attend this project; any volunteer under age 16 must attend with a parent or adult chaperone.
All volunteers under 18 are required to bring a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. Please download, complete, and bring this waiver with you on the day of the project: Youth Volunteer Release Form
